The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 has ended – a couple of months now – and we are waiting for the 2018 edition! Already some countries have select their artists and as we getting closer, more and more countries will follow.
This is our final recap of the last years competition.
At the beginning we have 43 countries, but for a second year in a row, some weeks before the ESC a country withdrew. Russia was withdrawn of the contest because of the conflict with host country Ukraine and the ban to some specific Russian artists.
At the final we had 26 acts. For the first time in the history of the contest Portugal won after a 48 other attempts – Eurovision record. The other two countries that finished in Top-3, Bulgaria and Moldova, both made their best appearance. On the contrast, Spain, Ukraine, Serbia, Latvia, Montenegro and San Marino saw their worst results.
United Kingdom finished 15th with 111 points, 20 years after their last win. Unexpectedly (for me at least) Romania finished 7th. The full results of the contest is available online at eurovition.tv .
After all the contest was not like those we used the previous years (I’m looking to you Sweden). The interval acts was too simple and the stage was… let’s just say good, if you consider the many schedule delays!
Here a recap of the 43 acts (Russia too) of the 2017 edition, published by the official Youtube channel of Eurovision.
