
Česká televize the public broadcaster of the Czech Republic, choose Eurovision Song CZ as its national selection process. Juries around Europe rank all the 8 songs. Every Eurofan was able to vote via the official Eurovision app its favourite song. The songs presented on 7 January, when the voting started – up until 21 January.
Today, the results were announced. Juries favourite Lake Malawi won the contest with their song “Friend of a Friend”. Televote favourite, “Space Sushi” by Jakub Ondra, came second.
Lake Malawi is an indie pop group by the Czech Republic. The group consists of Albert Černý, Jeroným Šubrt, and Antonín Hrabal. Their debut extended play was released in 2015, followed by their 2017 debut studio album “Surrounded by Light”.

Last year, the Czech Republic saw its second qualification in the final, where it finished sixth. The broadcaster used for the first time the Eurovision Song CZ, for the first time. Mikolas Joseph with his uptempo song “Lie To Me” gave to his country its best ever result. Here you can watch the appearance of Mikolas on the Final:
