Today is Valentine’s Day and all the lovers celebrate their love. In the Eurovision, since its beginning, we have seen many love songs. In the list below we remind you 5 different love Eurovision love songs throughout its history

My Number One – Helena Paparizou

“You are the one, you’re my number one” Helena sings and wins Eurovision for Greece in 2005. A classic ethnic-pop song by the Mediterranean country about your lover. This song gave Greece its first-ever win – and till today the only one – to the contest.

Cliche Love Song – Basim

Basim sang a cliche love song for Denmark in 2014. The song is a pop love song, obviously, full of cliches. Basim represented the host country and finished 9th in the Grand Final.

L’amour Est Bleu – Vicky Leandros

France is the country of lovers, so a French song was a “must” on this list. In 1967 the Greek singer Vicky Leandros represented Luxembourg. She managed to finished 4th with her song. Vicky explains to us why love is blue.

Hold Me Now – Johnny Logan

Mr Eurovision couldn’t be missing the list. At his second appearance – as a singer – in the contest, he sings the ultimate Eurovision love song. “Hold Me Now” won the contest in 1987, giving Irelands third win and Logans second.

Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare) – Domenico Modugno

The oldest song of the list is “Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu” or as it is well-known “Volare”. The Italian entry of 1958, describes the blue eyes of Modugno’s lover. The song finished 3rd but became a huge success in the whole world.

BONUS: Love, Love, Peace, Peace – Petra Mede, Måns Zelmerlöw

In 2016 the hosts of the contest gave us the most spectacular Eurovision song appearance. They combine all the secret ingredients that made a song successful in the contest and made their own. While we listen to their song, we watch a couple of former winners on stage (Alexander Rybak, Lordi). This interval is not an official Eurovision song, but it is a huge success among the fans.
