Söngvakeppnin came to an end and we have Iceland’s 2019 representative. Hatari will represent their country in the upcoming Eurovision contest. The techno group won the national final with the song “Hatrið Mun Sigra”.
The 10 finalists compete for one of the two spots in the Superfinal. Hatari and Friðrik Ómar proceed to the next round, where the group won. The song is in Icelandic and its the first since 2013. Hatari is a three-member band that formed in 2015. The song will perform in the second half of the first semifinal.
Iceland In 2018
Iceland last year was represented by the young and talented Ari Ólafsson and his song “Our Choice”. Sadly, the song didn’t manage to qualify to the final and finished last in his semi. The country hasn’t qualified since 2015.
What do you think about the song? Is it going to give Iceland its first win? Write your thoughts on the comment box below.
