This year Armenia will be represented by the talented Srbuk. The artist was born in Yerevan on 3rd of April 1994. Her full name is Srbuhi Sargsyan. She studied music from a young age.
Her career was boosted after she came 2nd in the first season of X-Factor Armenia back in 2011. Srbuk took part in several music festivals and televised programmes too. She has also competed in the Ukrainian edition of the Voice, reaching the final.
With time she began creating her own music style influenced by many established artists like Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson. Srbuk released her first solo album in 2016. “Yete Kavogh Es” – her debut album – reached the top of the Armenian charts.
Her most recent single – except her Eurovision entry – was last year when she released the song “Half A Goddess”.
Srbuk was the first artist to be announced for this year’s contest. In contrast, her song was one of the last to be released. “Walking Out” as it is entitled is co-written by Garik Papoyan. Garik had also co-written Armenia’s 2014 entry which finished 4th in the final!
Armenia will perform in the first half of the second semifinal.
