This year Australia will be represented by the talented Kate Miller-Heidke. The singer was born in 16th of November 1981 at Brisbane. She has both a Bachelor and a Master of Music. Except for singing Kate can play the guitar and keyboards.
Her career began in 2000 and since then she had achieved a lot of accomplishments. First of all, she has released four studio albums that have become multi-platinum in her country. In 2009 she became the first Australian to win the Grand Prize in the International Songwriting Competition. Her competing song was entitled “Caught In The Crowd”.
Her last album was released in 2014. “O Vertigo!” reached number four on the Australian album charts and was nominated for an ARIA award. In 2015 Kate stared in “The Divorce” a musical mini-series.
All these years, Kate has performed several roles for the English National Opera and the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Her Eurovision entry is co-written by her and her husband. The song describes her own experience with post-natal depression after the birth of her son. “Zero Gravity” won Australia’s first ever national final, winning both jury and public.
The song will be performed in the second half of the first semifinal.
