Editorial: First & Second Rehearsals – Day 6

Photo by: Andres Putting / EBU

A couple of hours ago, the first 11 acts – two of the first semifinal and nine of the second – rehearsed for the second time at the Expo Tel Aviv. Today, was also the first rehearsal of the Big 5 + Israel.

Note: For my first reaction check the previous editorials (Days 2-3).

  • Second Rehearsals

Greece ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท

Wow! Katerine has perfect vocals and the whole staging is amazing! I love the song, I love the vocals, I love the graphics!

San Marino ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

Such a happy song, but it is sad how small countries of Eurovision, most of the times are underrated!

Armenia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

The second time on stage was much better for Sbruk. Although, I don’t like very much the outfit.

Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

Still on the same page for Ireland. I cannot believe that is on the bottom of the odds for the second semi.

Moldova ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฉ

I agree with my first reaction and I can see it on the final.

Switzerland ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ

Well… I have developed an idea about Switzerland. As I look more closely into the appearance, I believe that has a lot in common with Cyprus’ 2018 appearance. However, as much as Eleni killed it, I don’t like Luca’s attempt.

Latvia ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ป

I like the Latvian song, but I’m not a huge fun! The entry is more likely to not be on the top-10 of the night.

Romania ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด

This song feels a little bit awkward. Ester’s movements, the underwater graphics and even the guitarist.

Denmark ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ

Love is forever! The song is so cute and so is Leonora. I don’t think that is going to win, but it’s a good effort.

Sweden ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช

Nothing change for John today.

Austria ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡น

One of this year’s surprises is the Austrian song. Today, I liked it even more.

  • First Rehearsals

Israel ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

More people on stage than I thought. The song makes me think of a single man singing and that’s all… all by himself. With this said, I understand completely why Kobi’s appearance ends with a close up on him.

France ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท

The hair was longer than I expected… very longer! I liked the graphics and certainly the whole “Be Yourself” theme. I’m not a huge fan of the song but ok!

Spain ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ

Love it! Since day one, “La Venda” may not be my favourite from OT’s Eurovision Gala, but I still love it. The power of the song and the non-stop movement of Miki suits the song perfectly. I heard it in January and until today I still hear it on replay (hi Tamta! ๐Ÿ‘‹). Nice job from Spain. Someone spent their budget wisely.

Italy ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Mahmood gave us a nice first rehearsal, but simple. I think is nice. I have to admit that wasn’t one of my favourites when it was selected, but now I like it!

United Kingdom ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Michael’s song has a very nice meaning. “Cause I can feel the universe when I’m feeling you breathe”. It’s sad if you think that it will be probably one of the underrated songs.

Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช

Last but not least, Germany. Female empowerment. One of the three feminists songs of the contest I can think. I like the graphics… the changes in the photos are really nice, although I don’t like the emptiness of the stage.

That was my opinion about the second rehearsals of the first and second semifinal and the first rehearsals of the Big 5 + Israel. Tomorrow, the rest of the second semifinal’s countries – Croatia, Malta, Lithuania, Russia, Albania, Norway, The Netherlands, North Macedonia and Azerbaijan – will perform their songs for the second time on the Eurovision stage.

What do you think about the second rehearsals? What do you think about Big-5 and Israel’s first rehearsals? What are your favourite and your least favourite act so far? Let us know on the comment box below!
