Our first trip will be to the second artist announcement. Cyprus, the Mediterranean island with a long history in the contest (36 contests) made an early decision about the artist. Tamta was revealed as the 2019 representative of the island on 21st of December. Tamta’s fans had one more reason to celebrate on Christmas.

Her song was already known that would be by Alex P. – the Greek-Swedish artist who composed Fuego in 2018. Tamta is an established artist in Cyprus but in Georgia and Greece too. She actually tried to represent Greece a decade ago in 2007 but failed to win the national final.

Now in the aftermath of the contest, we know that Tamta did an excellent job with her uptempo song Replay. Her performance didn’t manage to do as well as Eleni Foureira did the previous year. She finished 13th in the final.
