We continue the National Final Reminder with something from 2000. Today, we will travel to Estonia.
Estonia back in 2000 decided its representative through Eurolaul, a show similar to nowadays Eestilaul. Ten contestants were trying to win the event and represent their country in Eurovision.
The song “Over The Water Blue” was the entry by Evelin Samuel composed by Priit Pajusaar, Glen Pilvre and the lyrics were written by Evelin herself. The song managed to reach the 3rd place in the night of the final with a total of 69, 29 points behind the winning song.
Evelin Samuel was born on the 13th of May 1975. She made her first musical steps in the ’80s when she took part in a child musical theatre. In the early ’90s, she took part in a couple of national and European contests winning two of them. Her Eurovision debut was in 1997, as a backing vocals singer for Estonia. In 1999 she took part in Eurovision finishing 6th with 90 points.
In 2002 she released a debut album. She also became an author, releasing her first book in 2008. Evelin also has taken part in a couple of musicals.
