Friday’s Quote – UK 2018

Our quote today is from the British entry of 2018. The selected entry was “Storm” by SuRie.

SuRie was born in 18th of February 1989 as Susanna Marie Cork. She had studied music from a young age and started composing at the age of 12. In 2018, she participated in UK’s national final and won it with the song “Storm”. Her performance was interrupted by an unknown man. She continued her performance, once the man was taken down of the stage.

SuRie has participated two times in Eurovision for Belgium. In 2015, she was backing singer and dancer for Loïc Nottet and once again in 2017 as a musical director for Blanche.

The song is composed by Nicole Blair, Gil Lewis and Sean Hargreaves. On the night of the final, UK finished 24th with 48 points.

Storms don’t last forever, forever, remember
We can hold our hands together
Through this storm, through this storm

The quote is in English as it’s the rest of the song.
