Friday’s Quote – Sweden 1968

Our quote today is from the Swedish entry of 1968. The selected entry was “Det börjar verka kärlek, banne mig” by Claes-Göran Hederström.

Claes-Göran Hederström was born in 20th of October 1945. He appeared for the first time in the Swedish television in 1967. One year later, he participated in the national final (Melodifestivalen) and won it. He represented his nation to the contest finishing 5th with 15 points. The song topped the Swedish charts. His song remains his most recognised one.

The song is composed by Peter Himmelstrand. The conductor was Mats Olsson.

Det börjar verka kärlek, banne mig
Sånt där som står i böcker, tänka sig
Jag fattar ingenting, jag är väl lite ding
Så för all del, jag kan ha fel

The quote is in Swedish as it’s the rest of the song. That translates to English to “It’s beginning to look like love, darn it, the kind of thing you read about in books, imagine that, I don’t understand it, I guess I’m a little stupid, but by all means, I could be wrong”
