We continue the National Final Reminder with something from 2003. Today, we will travel to Norway.
Norway back in 2003 decided its representative through Melodi Grand Prix, the show that is still in use today. 12 songs participated in the live final selection.
Birgitte Einarsen and her song “Good Evening, Europe!” finished 4th at the first phase of the final and proceeded to the second round. At the Gold Final (the second round) Birgitte did better and got the 3rd place. The song was composed by Arve Furset, the co-composer of that year’s MGP winning entry.
Birgitte Einarsen was born in 1975, in Larvik, Norway. Birgitte except for singing she is also a musical theatre actress. She gained attention from her Melodi Grand Prix participation. Her song was full of ESC-references. In 2006, she tried again to win the national final, but that time she didn’t manage to enter the Gold Final.
