Melodifestivalen 2020: First Artist & Host Cities Announced!

SVT, the Swedish public broadcaster, gave us the first official announcements about the 2020 edition of Melodifestivalen – the Swedish national final.

Host Cities

The 60th edition of Melodifestivalen will start on the 1st of February and will conclude on the 7th of March. The first semifinal (1st February) will be hosted on Linköping. The second (8th February) will be on Göteborg, the third (15th February) on Luleå and the fourth (22nd February). The second chance round (29th February) will be on Eskilstuna. The grand final (7th March) and will be hosted as always on the Swedish capital, Stockholm.


Only one artist is known for the next edition of the music festival. Amanda Aasa won the P4 Nästa radio contest. This contest is held annually in the P4 radio, operated by Sveriges Radio. The contest is for new musicians. The winner won a ticket to the semifinals of Melfest. Last year, this ticket went to Lovers of Valdaro. The duo sadly finished last in their semi.


All the tickets for the festival will be available on the 31st of October.
