Our quote today is from the German entry of 1987. The selected entry was “Lass die Sonne in dein Herz” by Wind.
Wind is a german band. Their music is mostly Schlanger. At their very beginning, the group consisted of six members. Throughout the years the group participated three times at the contest, in 1985, in 1987 and 1992. Both in 1985 and 1987 they finished second, whilst in 1992 they finished 16th.
Their 1987 song was “Lass die Sonne in dein Herz”, which means “The Sun Into your Heart”. It was composed by Ralph Siegel and the lyrics were written by Bernd Meinunger. The conductor of the live performance was Laszlo Bencker.
Du musst an dich glauben, Mitleid brauchst du keins
Und du musst dein Leben lieben, denn du hast nur eins
Niemals mehr im Schatten stehen, geh ins Licht hinein
Du bist nicht allein
The quote is in German as it is the rest of the song. That is translated in English as “You have to believe in yourself, you don’t need pity, and you have to love your life, because you only have one, never stand in the shadow again, go into the light, you are not alone”.
