We continue the National Final Reminder of 2020 – after a short break – with something from Sweden.
Sweden selected its representative through Melodifestivalen, as usual. The music festival celebrated its 60th anniversary.
The song “Bulletproof” was Dotter’s entry to the contest. Dotter competed in the second semifinal, where she placed second and qualified directly to the final. At the final, the song topped the international jury with 65 points, the same number of points that The Mamas (winner of Melodifestivalen 2020) received. At the end of the show, it was down to the public’s opinion. Dotter placed 2nd behind The Mamas with a margin of one point. The song was composed by Dino Medanhodzic, Johanna Jansson (Dotter) and Erik Dahlqvist.
Dotter was born on June 10, 1987, in Sweden. Her real name is Johanna Maria Jansson. She released her first song in 2014. She is not new to Melodifestivalen. She has co-written songs for Mariette and Lina Hedlund. In 2018, she entered the contest as a singer. Her entry “Cry”, eliminated in its semi, despite being a favourite to win. In 2019, she sang with Måns Zelmerlöw in the Second Chance round as an interval act the song “Walk With Me”.
