This year Armenia was going to be represented by the talented Athena Manoukian. The artist was born in Athens, Greece on 22 May 1994, she is a Greek-Armenian singer.
Her first public performance was in 2007 when she participated in a greek talent show. Back then she was just 13 years old. One year later, she competed in the Greek national final for the junior edition of the contest. Her entry finished 7th.
In 2011, she released her first single “Party Like A Freak”, which became an instant hit. In 2014, she released her single “XO”, which gained global attention. Three years later, she wrote the song “Palia Mou Agapi”, means “My Old Love”, for the Greek Eurovision winner Helena Paparizou.
Since 2015, she has expressed her interest in competing in Eurovision representing Armenia, Greece or Cyprus. This year, she won Depi Evratesil, the Armenian national selection, and finally, her dream will become true.
Her entry “Chain On You” was composed by DJ Paco and Athena herself. The revamped version was produced by Artem Valter.
Armenia was going to compete in the second half of the second semifinal.
