
This year Estonia was going to be represented by Uku Suviste. Uku was born on 6 June 1982, in Võru, Estonia.
He studied in Estonian Information Technology College and graduated as a computer systems administrator. At the same time, he studied pop-jazz music. He also studied at Berklee College of Music in the USA. In 2005 he released his first original album “It’s Christmas Time”. In 2007 he collaborated with Birgit Õigemeel (Estonia 2013), arranging her album. He has competed in the New Wave music festival and has taken part in his country’s Your Face Sounds Familiar. In 2018, he competed in the Russian version of The Voice, where he joined Ani Lorak’s.
His debut to Eesti Laul, the Estonian national final, was in 2017. Back then he was eliminated in the final of the competition. Last year, he took part with the song “Pretty Little Liar”, which placed 2nd in the final, behind Victor Crone. This year, he won the show with more than 68% of the points!
His entry “What Love Is” was composed by Sharon Vaughn and Uku Suviste. The song is produced by Dimitris Kontopoulos.
The song was going to compete in the first half of the second semifinal.
