We continue the National Final Reminder of 2020 with something from Lithuania.
Lithuania selected its representative through Pabandom Iš Naujo!, the revamped version of „Eurovizijos“ dainų konkurso nacionalinė atranka.
The song “If I Leave” was Monika Marija’s entry to the music festival. Monika competed in the first heat and won it. Then she competed in the second semifinal, where she toped the jury voting but came second in the televoting. At the final, the song placed 3rd – 3rd in the jury and 4th in the televoting. The song was composed by Monika Marija Paulauskaitė and Marius Leskauskas.
Monika Marija was born on May 31 1998, in Kelmė, Lithuania. Monika is better known for competing in the fifth season of the Lithuanian version of The Voice, where she won.She plays the piano, guitar and drums and also speaks seven languages. In 2018 she tried to represent her country to the contest with the song “The Truth”. On the same year she released her song “Pabundu” and then she released her debut album. In 2019 she tried once again in Lithuania’s national final with two songs “Criminal” and “Light On”; the second one placed second in the final.
