We continue the National Final Reminder of 2020 with something from Finland.
Finland selected its representative through Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu. The music festival was held for the eighth time in a row.
The song “I Let My Heart Break” was Tika’s entry to the contest. Tika placed third in the public’s voting and fourth in the jury voting. The song placed third after all with a margin of 43 points from the winner. The song was composed by Neea Jokinen, Timo Oiva, Oliver@ i-One Music and Lotus Wang.
Tika was born in Nepal but was adopted in Sweden. Her full name is Tika Sevón Liljegren. She is a Swedish national, but she is living in Finland. In 2018 she competed in the second season of the Finnish edition of The X-Factor. She was part of Saara Aalto’s team. She eventually won the whole show and therefore she signed to Sony Music. In 2019, she released her first single. The same year a mini-docu series about her life after her victory was released online.
