We continue the National Final Reminder with something from 2019. Today, we will travel to Australia.
Australia back in 2019 decided its representative through Australia Decides; the first national final of the country. 10 songs participated in the live final selection.
The song “2000 And Whatever” was one of those 10 songs. The song placed second, 21 points behind Kate Miller-Heidke. “2000 And Whatever” was composed by Michael Ross and Zaachariaha Fielding.
Electric Fields is a duo that was formed in 2015 by Michael Ross and Zaachariaha Fielding. The duo combines modern electric music with Aboriginal sounds, performing in 3 languages; in Pitjantjatjara, Yankunytjatjara and English. In 2016, they released their debut EP. In late 2018, they were announced as one of the ten acts that were going to compete in the Australian national final. Their entry didn’t win despite being a fan-favourite. This year they were invited by the public broadcaster to compete again in the national final, but they decline the offer. A few months ago, they collaborated with KEiiNO and released the single “Would I Lie”.
