In 2014, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was held in Marsa, Malta. A total of 16 countries competed and the winner was Italy for the first time.

Italy in 2014, was represented by Vincenzo Cantiello and the song “Tu Primo Grande Amore”. The entry received 159 points, with a margin of just 12 point from the second placer Bulgaria.
