Finally, we know who will host this year’s edition of Melodifestivalen!
Christer Björkman will be the host of all shows. Christer Björkman is the Swedish representative of 1992. Besides that, he has also been the producer of Melodifestivalen since 2002 and the producer of both Eurovision 2013 and 2016. This year is his final year as a producer of the show.
In every show, a different artist will co-host the show with him. On the 1st Semifinal, Melodifestivalen winner Lena Philipsson will be the first co-host. Lena represented Sweden in the 2004 edition of Eurovision.
On the second Semifinal, Oscar Zia and Anis Don Demina will be the guest-hosts. Oscar Zia has taken part in Melodifestivalen three times. In his most recent attempt, Oscar placed second in the final! Anis Don Demina has also taken part in the national final as a contestant two times.
On the third Semifinal, the established Swedish musician Jason Diakité will be along Christer on the show, while on the fourth Semifinal Per Andersson will be the co-host.
On the Second Chance round, Shirley Clamp will be the co-host. Shirley is a familiar artist in the show, having competed for a total of six times!
On the Grand Final of the national selection, Måns Zelmerlöw and Shima Niavarani will be co-hosts. Måns Zelmerlöw has competed in the past on Melodifestivalen and has also won the Eurovision for Sweden. Except that, he has also hosted the national final in the past not only Sweden’s but also the UK’s. Shima Niavarani is an Iranian-Swedish actress and singer. Her 2021 co-hosting of the show will be her first.
Now all the fans have to wait for the running order of each Semifinal!
