National Final Reminder: Antony Costa – It’s a Beautiful Thing!

We continue the National Final Reminder with something from 2006. Today, we will travel to the United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom back in 2006 decided its representative through Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up. Six songs participated in the final of the national selection.

The song “It’s a Beautiful Thing” was one of those 6 songs performed by Antony Costa. The song placed 2nd in the final.

Antony Costa was born on 23 June 1981, in Barnet, England to a Greek-Cypriot father and a Jewish mother. In early 2000, he was member of the boy-band Blue. The Blue became worldwide famous and was initially dissolved in 2005. In 2011, the band reunited and represented UK in the Eurovision song contest. Their entry placed fifth in televoting and 22nd in jury voting – 11th place with 100 points after all. Their entry is the most successful one throughout the 2010’s. Besides being a singer, Antony has also been an actor.
