Sweden’s national selection method continues tonight. The show will last 6 weeks – 4 Semifinals, 1 Second Chance (Andra Chansen) and the Final. At the four semi-finals, we will see 28 acts but only 12 will make it to the final (two from each semifinal and four from second chance). Hosts of this show will be Christer Björkman and Jason Diakité.
Seven acts will try to win one of the two tickets for the Final. Those who will finish third and fourth they’ll have a Second Chance on 6th March.
- Charlotte Perrelli – Still Young
Charlotte Perrelli is an Eurovision and Melodifestivalen expert. She has competed four times in Melodifestivalen winning in the 1999 and 2008 editions. At Eurovision she won the contest in 1998 with the song “Take Me To Your Heaven”. This year, she will compete for the fifth time in the national final with the song “Still Young”, which is composed by Thomas G:son, Bobby Ljunggren, Erik Bernholm and Charlie Gustavsson.
- Emil Assergård – Om Allting Skitter Sig
The first debutant of the night is Emil Assergård. He is an artist that produces music in Swedish and he is signed with Universal since 2016. In 2013, he released his debut album and until today he has produced two more. He most recent album came out in 2019 and reached the 5th place on the Swedish charts. His song is composed by Emil Assergård, Jimmy Jansson, Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt, Anderz Wrethov and Johanna Wrethov.
- Klara Hammarström – Beat Of Broken Hearts
Klara is a bronze European athlete. Her family appeared at the television show “Familjen Hammarström”. More recently, she has focused on her musical career. In 2020, she debuted in the contest with the song “Nobody”. Her song this year is composed by David Kreuger, Fredrik Kempe, Niklas Carson Mattson and Andreas Wijk.
- Mustasch – Contagious
Mustasch is a Swedish heavy metal band that was formed in 1998 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Its current members are Ralf Gyllenhammar, Stam Johansson, David Johannesson and Robban Bäck. “Contagious” is composed by Ralf Gyllenhammar and David Johannesson.
- Elisa – Den Du Är
Elisa trying for the second time in Melodifestivalen. She made her debut in the 2014 edition with the Swedish-language song “Casanova”. This year, she will sing “Den Du Är” which is composed by Bobby Ljunggren, Ingela “Pling” Forsman and Elisa Lindström.
- Alvaro Estrella – Baila Baila
Alvaro, debuted in Melodifestivalen in 2014, with the song “Bedroom”. His song finished 7th in its semi and therefore didn’t reach the final. In 2020, he collaborated with Méndez. The two artists sang “Vamos Amigos”. Is noteworthy that, Alvaro has been the backing vocalist and dancer in several Eurovision entries for Sweden. More recently, he was one of Robin Bengtsson’s dancer, in 2017.
- Tusse – Voices
Tusse is a young Congolese-Swedish singer. He is known is Swedish as the winner of the Idol in 2019. This year will debut in Mello with the song “Voices”, which is composed by Joy Deb, Linnea Deb, Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt and Anderz Wrethov.
