Withdrawn Songs: Switzerland – 1992!

There are a number of songs that was selected to represent some countries in the contest, but for a variety of reasons the songs never made it to the Eurovision stage. In this series of posts we are going to remind you some of these songs.

Switzerland 1992

Switzerland in 1992 was going to be represented by Geraldine Olivier and her song “Soleil Soleil” to sent in Sweden. Despite winning the national final the entry was replace by the second placer Daisy Auvray with the song “Mister Music Man”. Geraldine’s song was originally submitted to the French-speaking broadcaster with French lyrics. The broadcaster rejected the song and the entry was submitted to the German-speaking broadcaster with German lyrics. At Eurovision, the second placer Daisy Auvray placed 15th with 32 points.
