Iceland this year chose Daði og Gagnamagnið as its 2021 representative. Daði og Gagnamagnið or simply Gagnamagnið is an Icelandic band that was formed in 2017.

The members of the band are Daði Freyr Pétursson, Árný Fjóla Ásmundsdóttir, Sigrún Birna Pétursdóttir, Hulda Kristín Kolbrúnardóttir, Stefán Hannesson and Jóhann Sigurður Jóhannsson. Gagnamagnið competed in 2017 edition of the national final (Söngvakeppnin) and finished second. The band is known for its appearance; all members wear green sweaters, which have a pixel version of them.

The lead singer of the band is Daði Freyr Pétursson. He was born on 30 June 1992, in Reykjavik, Iceland. He grew up in Denmark until the age of nine when his family moved back to Iceland. He has studied music and he currently lives in Berlin.

Last year, their entry “Think About Things” won the national final and was going to compete at the contest, before Eurovision’s cancellation. This year, their were internally selected for ESC.

Their entry “10 Years” is composed by Daði Freyr Pétursson.

Iceland is going to compete 8th in the second semifinal.
