We continue the National Final Reminder with something from 2008. Today, we will travel to Sweden.
Sweden back in 2008 decided its representative through “Melodifestivalen 2008”. Ten entries competed in the final of the national selection.
The song “Lay Your Love On Me” was one of those 10 entries performed by BWO. The song is composed by Alexander Bard, Anders Hansson, Bobby Ljunggren and Henrik Wikström and placed 3rd at the end of the show.
BWO was Swedish electro-pop group that was formed in 2003. The original name of the group was Bodies Without Organs, but in 2006 the name was shortened to just BWO. BWO consists of Martin Rolinski, Alexander Bard and Marina Schiptjenko. Besides their moderate success of their debut single, the group managed to became globally successful. BWO soon became known in Easter Europe, Scandinavia, German speaking countries, the UK and the USA. In Sweden the group, released 4 studio albums and 23 singles. All albums entered the Top-10 on the local charts and 15 singles entered the Top-40. In 2009, BWO gained fame in the Asian market (China, Taiwan and China).
The band had participated four times in the Swedish national final – 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009. Their best placing came in 2006, when they reached the 2nd place.
