Artist Profile: Serbia 2021 – Hurricane!

Serbia this year chose Hurricane as its 2021 representative. Hurricane is a three-member girl group, that formed in 2017. The members are Sanja Vučić, Ivana Nikolić and Ksenija Knežević.

Sanja Vučić is not new in the contest. In 2016, she was internally selected as the Eurovision representative of her country. She flew the Serbian flag to Stockholm and sang her song Goodbye (Shelter). The song managed to qualify to the final, where it placed 18th in a field of 26 with 115 points. Is noteworthy that Sanja speaks five languages: Serbian, English, Spanish, Italian and Arabic.

Ivana Nikolić she is a singer and dancer from Serbia. She has collaborated with Jala Brat (Bosnia & Herzegovina 2016). Together they have released a single.

Ksenija Knežević has tried to represent her country again in 2013. She competed in the national final as part of the group Sky. Their song qualified to the final but finished last. She is also the daughter of Knez (Montenegro 2015).

The group mostly sings in English but their Eurovision entry is in Serbian, with a some phrases in English and in Spanish. Hurricane won last year’s national final with the song “Hasta La Vista”. After the cancellation of the contest the group was internally selected to represent Serbia in 2021. Between their two Eurovision songs, the band released a number of singles.

Their entry “Loco Loco” was composed by Nemanja Antonić and Darko Dimitrov. The lyrics were written by Sanja Vučić.

Serbia is going to compete 9th in the second semifinal.
