Artist Profile: United Kingdom 2021 – James Newman!

The United Kingdom this year chose James Newman as its 2021 representative. James was born on October 19, 1985, in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. His full name is James Richard Newman.

In 2013, he wrote the “Waiting All Night” for the band Rudimental which wan a Brit award. Along with his brother John, they have many composed songs including “Blame”, on which they collaborated with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris. All this years he had composed songs for established artists such as Kesha, Guy Sebastian, Zyan and Little Mix. James was internally selected in 2020 as the next representative of the UK in the contest. His song “My Last Breath” was composed by James Newman, Ed Drewett, Adam Argyle and Iain James.

After the contest’s cancellation, it was announced that James will return in 2021. His song “Embers” is composed by James Newman, Conor Blake, Danny Shah, Tom Hollings and Samuel Brennan.

The UK is going to compete directly in the final, while the British will also be able to vote in the second semifinal.
