Kriesta Siegfrids – Marry Me
In 2013, Finland selected Krista Siegfrids and her song “Marry Me”.
It was composed by Krista Siegfrids, Erik Nyholm, Kristofer Karlsson and Jessika Lundström. The entry placed 24th in the final with 13 points.
Krista Siegfrids was born 4 December 1985, Kaskinen, Finland, to Swedish speaking parents. In 2011, she participated in the first season of the Finnish edition of The Voice. In 2013, she took part in the Finnish national selection UMK and she won with the song “Marry Me”. At her Eurovision performance she kissed one of her backing vocalist – the first ever Lesbian kiss on the stage of the contest.
After her Eurovision participation she tried to represent Sweden at the contest. She entered Melodifestivalen two times, in 2016 and 2017. Since 2016 she is the presenter of the Finnish national final UMK – delivering amazing acts!
This year she took part on the first season of the Finnish version of The Masked Singer. Krista hosted this year a special show for the official Eurovision YouTube channel called “Krista Calling”. She also hosted a Eurovision show on a Dutch broadcaster and the Live On Tape shows of Eurovision.
In 2013, Finland selected Krista Siegfrids to send in Eurovision with the song “Marry Me”. Same-sex marriage in Finland was in discuss by 2013. Krista showed her support to the LGBT community by kissing one of her female dancers. That was the very first kiss on Eurovision by two people of the same sex. Later that evening, on the interval act two men also kissed. For the history, same sex marriage is legal in Finland since 2017! #lovewins
