Valentina Monetta – Maybe (Forse)
In 2014, San Marino selected Valentina Monetta and her song “Maybe (Forse)” to sent in Copenhagen. The song is entirely in English.
It was composed by Ralph Siegel and the lyrics of the song were written by Mauro Balestri. At the final, the entry placed 24th with 14 points.
Valentina Monetta
Valentina Monetta was born on March 1, 1975, in City of San Marino, San Marino. In 2008, she tried to represent her country in Eurovision, but she wasn’t selected. In 2012, she sang for San Marino the song “The Social Network Song”. The entry didn’t manage to qualify for the final. The following year, she represented again her country and managed to reach the 11th place in the semifinal. Her third Eurovision participation came in 2014, where she placed 24th in the final. That was the first qualification for the country. In 2017, she entered the contest for the fourth time along with Jimmie Wilson. The entry placed last in its semifinal.
Throughout the years, she has released three studio albums and one EP.
San Marino in the Eurovision 🇸🇲
San Marino debuted in the contest in 2008. Since then, the country has participated 11 times. Between 2009 and 2010, San Marino didn’t enter the contest due to financial difficulties.
The country has qualified three times for the final, in 2014, 2019 and 2021. Its worst result came in 2008 and 2014, when the country placed last in the semifinal. In 2008, San Marino scored 5 points and in 2014 just one.
