Belgians may not know yet for which Italian city they should book their tickets for Eurovision, but they know who will cheer up for. The Belgian broadcaster, announced the artist that will represent the country in the upcoming contest.

Today, it was announced that Jérémie Makiese will represent Belgium to Italy, making him the first confirmed act of the season.

Jérémie is the latest winner of the Belgian edition of The Voice. He was born in Belgium to Congolese parents. He speaks both Dutch and French.

Of course, its too early for his song to be released. Based on the country’s history to the contest, the song it is expected to be released between late February and early March.

Belgium last year was represented by Hooverphonic and his song “Wrong Place”. The song placed 19th with 74 points in the final.
