Following that, a jury will judge some of the artists that have applied and will choose the 40 that will proceed in the next phase of the contest. After that, there will be held 4 semifinals and a second chance round for the 40 artists – 9-13 February.

National Final & San Marino

That will be the third time the country will select its participant through a national final. In 2018, 1in360 was used. In that particular format, a variety of artists all over the world submitted entries and after a voting process, there were held three shows – 2 semifinals and 1 final.

From that year, Jessika feat. Jenifer Brening sang the song “Who we are”. The song didn’t make it to the final.

In 2020, San Marino a couple of days prior to the EBU deadline for a song submission held a quick online voting. Two potential songs for Senhit were made available and through the voting “Freaky!” was selected. The contest that year was cancelled due to COVID-19.

San Marino, last year, managed for the second consecutive time to qualify for the final. Eurovision fans were thrilled to watch the Freaky queen, Senhit, collaborating with the American rapper FLO RIDA. Their song “Adrenalina” placed 22nd with 50 points.
