We continue the National Final Reminder with something from Finland.

Finland held a national final, Euroviisut, in order to select its 2000 entry. Six entries competed in the live final.

The song “Sleepwalker” was one of the 6 entries of the national final by Nightwish. Nightwish had already won the semifinal and despite winning the televoting in the final with over the double votes, they placed 3rd. That was the result of finishing 5th in the jury-voting. The song is composed by Tuomas Holopainen.

Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band that was formed in 1996 in Kitee, Finland. In 1997, they released they debut studio album, with which they gained success in their home country. In 1998, they released their second album, which boosted their international career. Today, they have released 9 studio albums and many singles, all of which charted in their country (the majority of them also charted internationally). Throughout the years, the formation of the band has changed, but their music has remained at its best. Nightwish is the third best-selling artist of Finland and the most successful Finnish band.
