A moments ago, SVT announced the names of half the participants of Melodifestivalen 2022!

Returns

As usual, a couple of artists return to the contest. Klara Hammarström will sing for the third consecutive year. She made her debut in Melodifestivalen in 2020 and she also sang in the 2021 version. Omar Rundberg will also comeback for the third time. His debut was in 2017 as part of the boy band FO&O and as a solo artist in 2019.

Lisa Ajax has three attempts in her past (2016, 2017, 2019) and now she will try for the fourth one. However, this year, she will not be alone in the stage, but she will sing along with Niello. Can the third be the charm for LIAMOO? The young artist, who just became a father, will take his chances for the third time in Melodifestivalen after competing in 2018 and 2019.

Faith Kakembo debuted in the national final back in 2020 with her song “Crying Rivers”. The song eliminated in the semifinals, but reached the 18th place in the Swedish charts. This year, Faith will tried for a better placing.

Linda Bengtzing is a Mello veteran competing for her eight time this year (2005, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2016, 2020, 2022). John Lundvik is also a veteran with one victory in his record. He competing in both the 2017 and 2018 contests and won the later one.

Melodifestivalen 2022

Melodifestivalen 2022 will be the 62nd edition of the Swedish national final. Oscar Zia will host the six nights show. The first semifinal will kick off on February 5, 2022! For the first time in years, we will see a major chance in the contest. The second chance round will now be another semifinal, from which four artists will advance to the final.
