The Bulgarian broadcaster, BNT, announced the artist that will represent the country in 2022’s contest a couple of days ago.

Today, Intelligent Music Project released their Eurovision entry “Intention” making it the first entry to be revealed for the upcoming Eurovision event.

Intelligent Music Project is a progressive rock supergroup. The group consists of six established artists: Ronnie Romero, Bisser Ivanov, Slavin Slavchev, Ivo Stefanov, Dimiter Sirakov and Stoyan Yankoulov.

Stoyan Yankoulov has two times in the past represented Bulgaria in the contest along with Elitsa Todorova in 2007 and in 2013. In 2007, they placed fifth in the final, whilst in 2013 they didn’t make it to the final.

In Rotterdam, Bulgaria was represented by VICTORIA. She was originally meant to represent Bulgaria in 2020 prior to the contest’s cancellation. In 2021, her entry “Growing Up Is Getting Old” placed 11th in the final with 170 points.
