The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner and we are here to keep you company in these cold days. Every day will post a Christmas song that somehow is Eurovision related. The songs will be both covers and originals.

Oscar Zia – Nyårsvals

Our next Christmas song for this year it is sung by Oscar Zia. Oscar has competed at Melodifestivalen – the Swedish national final – a number of times, but he has never won. His Christmas song is his latest single that came out a few weeks ago.

Oscar Zia was born on 10 October 1996, in Svedala, Sweden. He comes from a big family, having five siblings. At the age of sixteen, Oscar appeared on the Swedish version of “The X-Factor”, where he placed 8th. A couple of months later, he competed in Melodifestivalen as a backing vocalist in the song “Jalla Dansa Sawa” a Behrang Miri’s song. Is noteworthy that along with Oscar, Loulou Lamotte (The Mamas) was also a backing vocalist. The song was eliminated in the Second Chance Round but reached the 4th place on the country’s charts. In 2013 he also participated in the Swedish version of Strictly Come Dancing where he placed second. Moreover, he competed in the 2014 and 2016 editions of Melodifestivalen. In 2014 his entry “Yes We Can” placed 8th in the final of the national selection. In 2016, his powerful ballad “Human” reached the 2nd place! He has released throughout the years one studio album, one EP and several singles. This year he was one of Melodifestivalen’s host – second semifinal. In the upcoming edition of the show he will be the main host.
