Ireen Sheer released her new and last album “Auf Wiedersehen – Goodbye”. That is her 21st studio album and with this ends a career that dates back to the ’60s. In her album, you can listen to 13 new songs.
Ireen Wooldridge better known as Ireen Sheer was born on February 25, 1949, in England. Her career started in the ’60s. Initially she was singing as part of groups and later she pursue a solo career. During the ’70s she focus her music in the German market with her first hit in the country coming in 1973.
Ireen Sheer is a Eurovision legend. She has competed three times at Eurovision. In 1974, she represented Luxembourg at the contest with the song “Bye, Bye, I Love You”. The song reached the 4th place at the final. In 1976 she entered the German national final but placed 8th and therefore she didn’t perform at Eurovision stage. Two years later she represented German with the song “Feuer” reading the 6th place at the contest. Her latest ESC participation came in 1985, when she sang for Luxembourg the song “Children, Kinder, Enfant” along with Margo, Franck Olivier, Diane Solomon, Malcolm & Chris Roberts and placed 13th. More recently, in 2002, she entered the German national final, without winning the ticket for Eurovision.
Her career counts many hits with more than 20 albums and more than 100 singles!
