The national broadcaster of Ireland, RTÉ, announced the first two artists that will compete in its upcoming national final.
It was announced a few months ago that Ireland will select its next Eurovision representative through a national final. Today, the first two participants were announced along with their entries. The remaining artists will be announced one each day until 21st of January!
Rachel Goode – I’m Loving Me
Rachel Goode is a classical soprano from Co Galway. She has performed in the past in a number of local venues. She recently released her first single.
Brendan Murray – Real Love
Brendan Murray was born on 16 November 1996 in Galway, Ireland. His full name is Brendan Hugh Francis Murray. In 2014, he became part of the boyband Hometown, which released one studio album. Moreover, two singles of the band topped the Irish charts. Hometown went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016. In 2017, Brendan represented Ireland in Eurovision with the song “Dying To Try”. Sadly, the entry didn’t pass the semis. In 2018, he participated in the 15th season of the British X-Factor, where he placed 5th.
