
Söngvakeppnin will return this year as the Icelandic national selection!
Iceland this year will select its Eurovision participant, as usual, through Söngvakeppnin. The national final dates back in 1986, when the country first participated at Eurovision. Up to this point, RÚV hasn’t released any specific information regarding its selection process.
However, the names of the three hosts were announced today. Björg Magnúsdóttir, Jón Jónsson and Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir will host the show.
Furthermore, it is known that a total of 158 songs were submitted. A jury selected the 10 songs that will enter the live shows. The show will consist of two semifinals – February 26, March 5. The final will take place on March 12. The songs are expected to be released on February 5.
