Last evening, the final of Sanremo Music Festival took place in Italy. Mahmood & Blanco won the Festival!

According to the rules of the contest, the winner of the festival has the right of first refusal for Eurovision. However, it was announced that the duo has agree to sing for Italy at Eurovision.

The Sanremo Music Festival is Italy’s biggest music event and this year held its 72nd edition. The winner of this festival is given the chance to represent the country to Eurovision. This year’s show was held on Ariston Theatre – as usual – between 1st and 5th of February.

Mahmood & Blanco won the music festival with their song “Brividi”.

Italy in Eurovision 2021

Last year, Italy was represented by Måneskin and their song “Zitti e Buoni”. Their song won with 524 points in the final.
