Sweden 2022: Melodifestivalen – And The Winner Is… Cornelia Jakobs!

Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national final, has come to an end!

After six weeks and 28 songs, the Swedes decided their next Eurovision representative. A few moments ago, Melodifestivalen came to an end. Ultimate Winner of the show was Cornelia Jakobs with her song “Hold Me Closer”. The first time a solo female artist wins the show since 2014!

Cornelia Jakobs – Hold Me Closer

Anna Cornelia Jakobsdotter Samuelsson or simply Cornelia Jakobs is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She was born on March 9, 1992, in Sweden. Her career started in 2008, when she competed in the Swedish version of Idol. She has in the past participated at Melodifestivalen as part of Love Generation both in 2011 and 2012. She remains part of the group, which now it is called “Stockholm Syndrome”.

Sweden in Eurovision 2021

In 2021, Sweden was represented by Tusse and his song “Voices”. The entry qualified for the final, where it placed 14th with 109 points.
