The United Kingdom this year chose Sam Ryder as her 2022 representative. Sam was born in 1989, in Maldon, the United Kingdom. His full name is Sam Ryder Robinson.

His career dates back in 2009, when he worked as a singer and guitarist as a session player. He gained fame during the first lockdown in 2020, after posting TikTok videos, in which he covered songs. He soon signed with a record label and became the most followed British singer on TikTok.

In 2021, he released his debut EP “The Sun’s Gonna Rise”, that consisted five songs. Earlier this year, he was internally selected as the British representative for Eurovision.

His song “Space Man” is composed by Sam Ryder, Amy Wadge and Max Wolfgang.

The UK is prequalified to the final, while the British will also be able to vote in the second semifinal.
