Antique released their cover of greek song “Ti Ti”, which means “What, What”. The song was originally sang by Giorgos Alkaios (Greece 2010) and is composed by Evi Droutsa and Khaled.
Antique is a Swedish-Greek duo that was formed in 1999 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The duo consists of Helena Paparizou and Nikos Panagiotidis. The two artists are childhood friends and started their career by releasing covers of Greek songs. Their songs managed to become successful not only in Greece but also in Scandinavia.
In 2001, the duo entered the Greek national final for Eurovision 2001 and won it. Their entry “Die For You” traveled to Copenhagen and managed to place 3rd with 147 points. That was at the time the most successful entry of the country at the contest.
In 2003, the group dissolved, but in 2019 they organise a Swedish concert celebrating their 20 years anniversary. In 2022 the duo was reunited releasing their first single in years.
Throughout the years, Antique has released three studio albums and many singles.
Helena Paparizou was born on 31st of January 1982 in Borås, Sweden. Her parents were Greek immigrants. She moved for a couple of years in Greece and then back to Sweden, where she grew up.
She started her music career being a part of the music duo Antique. The duo represented Greece in the 2001 edition of the contest and finished 3rd (the best place for the country until then). Later she went solo. In 2005 she represented Greece again. This time, her song “My Number One” won the contest and brought to the Mediterranean country its first and only – until today – victory.
After her Eurovision win, Helena released many singles and albums. Many times her songs have entered the Greek, Cyprus and Swedish charts. In 2014 she competed in Melodifestivalen, in order to represent Sweden in Eurovision, but her song Survivor finished 4th in the final. Since 2016, she is one of the four judges in the Greek version of the Voice.
