Switzerland this year chose Marius Bear as its 2022 representative. Marius was born on April 21, 1993, in Schlatt-Haslen, Switzerland. His real name is Marius Hügli.
Until 2016, he studied to become a construction machinery mechanic. Then he decided to pursue his dream as a musician. He toured as a street musician in Germany and Switzerland. The following year, he studied music in the British and Irish Modern Music Institute. In 2020, he appeared in the German show “I Can See Your Voice”, while in early 2021 he took part in the show “1 gegen 100”.
Both his first single and EP were released in 2018. The following year, he released his debut album “Not Loud Is Enough”. The album stayed 5 weeks in the Swiss charts and was peaked at the 20th place.
This year, he was internally selected to represent his country at Eurovision. His entry “Boys Do Cry” is composed by Marius Bear and Martin Gallop. A few days ago, he released his second studio album.
Switzerland is going to compete in the first half of the first semifinal.
