
This year Belgium selected Jérémie Makiese as its next Eurovision representative. Jérémie Makiese was born on June 15, 2000, in Antwerp, Belgium to Congolese parents.
As a child he started singing in the church and he later took singing lessons. In 2021, he entered the francophone version of the Voice of Belgium. At the show, he rosed to fame and managed to win. Following his victory at the reality, he stopped his studies in geology and focus in his singing career.
In addition to him being a singer, he is also a footballer. He has played in a variety of Belgian football teams.
In late 2021, he was internally selected for Eurovision 2022. A few weeks ago, his entry “Miss You” was released.
His song is composed by Jérémie Makiese, Manon Romiti, Mike BGRZ and Silvio Lisbonne. It is noteworthy that “Miss You” reached the 2nd place on the Dutch-speaking charts of Belgium and 29th on the French-speaking region.
Belgium will perform 16th in the second semifinal.
