
We continue the National Final Reminder of 2022 with something from Latvia.
Latvia decided its participant through Supernova 2022. Eleven artists participated in the live final of the show.
The song “I’m Letting You Go” was one of the 11 entries of the final, which was performed by Aminata. At the end, the song, which is composed by Aminata, managed to place 2nd.
Aminata
Aminata Savadogo or simply Aminata was born on January 9 2013, in Riga, Latvia. She is Latvian singer and songwriter. Her mother is of Latvian and Russian descent, whilst her father is from Burkina Faso.
In 2014, she entered the Latvian national final for Eurovision. Her entry managed to place 5th in the final. In 2015, she competed again and won with her song “Love Injected”. Aminata represented Latvia at Eurovision, where she placed 6th. The following year, she composed the Latvian entry for Justs. In late 2016, she competed in the Russian version of The Voice and she reached the “Knockouts”.
Moreover, throughout the years she composed songs for other artists that tried to compete in Eurovision. In 2017, she composed the song Aistė Pilvelytė, who enter the Lithuanian national final and placed second. In 2020, co-composed the Samanta Tīna’s winning entry of Supernova and also her 2021 Eurovision entry. In 2022 she competed again in the national final, where it placed 2nd.
Aminata has released a number of singles, two studio albums and an EP.
