A couple of hours ago, the first day of rehearsals came to an end. The first 9 acts were rehearsed at the PalaOlimpico, in Turin. In contrast to the previous years, all the 1st rehearsals are closed to the press. However, people can stay up to date through the official TikTok account of Eurovision.
Albania 🇦🇱
Ronela Hajati From Albania was the first artist today to perform on the Eurovision stage. As we can notice from the video, which was released on TikTok, Ronela wears a sparkly top with a plain black bottom and her hair is pink. On stage, there are four male dancers and a female one. The male dancers wear a kilt. This outfit reminds us of Anna Bergendahl’s national final performance in 2020 (Kingdom Come), where the dancers wore also black kilts.
Latvia 🇱🇻
Citi Zēni were the second act, which performed today. The Latvian representatives kept their outfits in the same way that were on the national final. A notable difference is that they get rid of the white sneakers and now each member wears shoes the same colour as its suit. The band is full of energy on stage and that is a major advantage for the song.
Lithuania 🇱🇹
Lithuania was next. Monika Liu performed her song “Sentimentai”. The stage looks the same as her national final performance. She is alone on stage and she wears a long black sparkling dress.
Switzerland 🇨🇭
Marius Bear was also among the artists that rehearsed for the first time today. His vocals sound like the studio version. He wears a total black outfit – black trousers, a black turtleneck and a black leather jacket with some “drawings” on it.
Slovenia 🇸🇮
Slovenia’s LPS performed next. The staging has some changes from that of the national final. First of all the drummer is now on a raised platform. Of course, a big disco ball is now at the centre of the stage paying homage to the entry’s title. All the band’s members are wearing suits, half of which are red and the other half green.
Ukraine 🇺🇦
The Ukrainian entry combines modern with folk in a very unique way. The vocals of the singers are excellent. The outfits are mostly the same as the ones on the national final, giving the entry an additional folk vibe.
Bulgaria 🇧🇬
Bulgaria’s entry performed on Eurovision stage next. The members of Intelligent Music Project wear total black outfits with leather jackets. During the performance, we can notice some pyros.
The Netherlands 🇳🇱
S10 performs solo on stage. She wears a black outfit and during her performance, there is also some smoke. As usual, her hair is left down.
Moldova 🇲🇩
I found Zdob și Zdub and Advahov Brothers’ performance improved. The staging was full of colours with the song being a very nice dance hit.
Tomorrow, the rest of the first semifinal’s countries – Portugal, Croatia, Denmark, Austria, Iceland, Greece, Norway and Armenia – will perform their songs for the first time on the Eurovision stage.
