
Romania this year chose WRS as its 2022 representative. Andrei Ionuț Ursu was born on January 16, 1993 in Bazău, Romania. He is know by his stage name WRS.
At a young age, he was encouraged to take dance lessons. Before pursuing his musical career, he took part in many Romanian shows as a professional dancer. In 2015, he became a member of the boy band “Shot”. In 2017, he left the band and moved to London. There he started composing his own songs.
As a solo artist, he made his musical debut in 2020, when he released his single “Why”. After a number of singles, last March he released his first EP.
Earlier this year, the artist entered the Romanian national final for Eurovision. He managed to win the selection process with his song “Llámame” and will represent his country in Turin.
His entry is composed by Andrei Ursu (WRS), Alexandru Turcu, Cezar Gună and Costel Dominteanu.
Romania will perform 13th in the second semifinal.
