The song “Universo” was entirely in Spanish and the title means “Universe”. Composers of the song were Dan Hammond and Blas Cantó himself.
After the contest’s cancellation, it was announced that Blas will represent the country in the next edition of the contest. In the time between his two Eurovision participations he collaborated with the Spanish 2012 representative Pastora Soler and with the worldwide famous singer Kelly Clarkson.
In 2021, Spain hosted a national final with two songs in order to select Blas’ entry. The song “Voy A Quedarme”, which won composed by Blas Cantó, Leroy Sánchez, Daniel Ortega and Dan Hammond, won the national selection.
